To identify your series, check the etched marking on the glass spacer bar visible when the door is open, or the sticker on the top track rail. The Estate roller housing measures 1-11/16 inches wide; Sentinel takes 1-1/4 inches; Targa uses a 1-1/2 inch housing with a unique offset mounting hole pattern that aftermarket rollers rarely match correctly. We carry OEM CGI rollers for all three series and stock a tested aftermarket equivalent for Estate and Sentinel that meets the same 100,000-cycle rating at roughly 60 percent of OEM cost. For Targa, we use OEM only; the tolerance stack is too tight for substitutions we’ve tested.

Signs Your CGI Sliding & Patio Door Is Failing

• The door requires shoulder weight to move. This usually means the rollers have flat-spotted or the axle bushings have worn oval. In Lantana’s salt air, we see this at 6 to 10 years on beachfront homes, sooner if the track drains clog and standing water sits in the rail.
• Grinding or popping sound from the bottom rail. The roller bearings have corroded through their grease seal, or debris has embedded in the polymer tire. Continuing to operate it will chew grooves into the aluminum track, turning a roller replacement into a track-and-roller job.
• Visible gap at the lock strike plate when closed. The panel has sagged on worn rollers, dropping the latch below the keeper. The lock itself may be fine; the panel geometry is what shifted.
• Water intrusion at the sill during heavy rain. The sill cap seal has hardened or the weep channels are blocked with sand and organic matter. Lantana’s summer storms push water hard against these seals; once the rubber loses pliability, capillary action pulls water past the barrier.
• Fog between the glass panes. The insulated glass unit seal has failed, allowing moist Florida air into the cavity. This is not a roller or track issue but a glazing failure, and it requires full sash replacement or glass unit reglazing depending on the series age.
